Your Photo to Tintype (5"x7")

Your Photo to Tintype (5"x7")
Have an image you’d like to keep forever in a handmade, archival object? Make it into a tintype!
Step One:
-Make sure your image is a minimum 300 dpi at the size tintype you want. If you do not want the image cropped, also make sure it is the right image ratio for the size tintype you want. If it is a different image ratio that is okay, you will just need to accept that some cropping will occur (see example image)
Step Two:
-Place an order via my website, and fill out all info via intake forms. If you’d like to have a digital scan of your tintype, select that service in the store and make sure to add it to your cart. If you’d like it mailed make sure to add shipping to your cart as well (both scanning and shipping are listed as separate items and must be added manually). If you are local we can arrange for an in-person pick up.
Step Three:
-Email the image to me (blkkhand@gmail.com) with your order number (youll get that after you complete your purchase), name, and “Your Photo to Tintype” in the subject line. Let me know if you have any special requests compositionally if cropping will need to happen.
Step Four:
-Wait patiently while I make your image! I’m accepting orders between now and October 13th, which will be completed and available for pickup or mailing by November 3rd
!Please Read! Things to Consider:
Unlike an in-person tintype, this will not pick up information that is not already there. In fact, details may be lost since the tintype generally interprets images made this way as more contrasty. For example, if there are shadows in a person’s eyes from direct overhead light, that will become more exaggerated and appear skull-like! Image quality is directly linked to the source image.
This is still a handmade object, so there will be inconsistencies, imperfections, and variations due to the chemical process. There may also be marks or anomalies that were not present in the original source image. Please be accepting and flexible with the final product. Tintype is an inherently imperfect process, which is part of what makes it special. Think of this as an archival interpretation of your source image, rather than a direct copy.
A digital scan is not included, if you’d like a nice digital version of your tintype please add the item “Digital Scan” to your cart.
